zechariah

A Fountain.

As I listened to the peaceful sound of the falling water, I found myself lost in deep reflection. My thoughts centered on the powerful cleansing ability of God’s grace. The book of Zechariah, chapter thirteen, verse one came to my mind.

“On that day there shall be a fountain opened for the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and uncleanness.”

Zechariah 13:1

What a powerful reminder of the endless fountain of God’s grace and mercy, which can wash away the dirt and grime of sin, just as a fountain washes away physical impurities. No matter our past mistakes or shortcomings, God’s forgiveness is available to all who seek it.

As I pondered this verse, I find solace in the the fact that no sin is to great for God’s cleansing power to forgive. I long to approach Him with a humble and contrite heart, confident that He will hear my prayers and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. As I continue to move forward, Lord, please help me by keeping my heart focused on the cleansing fountain. Help me draw strength from the knowledge of Your forgiveness, mercy, and love, which are always available to me.

Zechariah 13 verse 1 is a beautiful reminder of God’s grace and mercy. It’s an image that we can hold on to in times of trouble and uncertainty, knowing that no matter what we may face, we can always find forgiveness and restoration in Christ. Lord, help me to embrace the cleansing fountain and draw near to you with a humble and contrite heart.

In Him, with love
