Progressive Christianity?

As Christians living in the present culture, we are all swimming in the same current. However, there is a difference between swimming with the current and swimming against it. The current of culture is often moving in a direction that is incompatible with the teachings of the Bible.

“Progressive christianity” is a movement that is often going with the current of our culture, which is fundamentally opposed to a biblical Christian worldview. Its followers claim to be christian, yet they often adopt beliefs and practices that are at odds with the teachings of the Bible. For example, they tend to approve of sexual promiscuity, the redefinition of the family, and in some cases deny the sanctity of life. They have also been known to advocate for gender fluidity and moral relativism, which are all outside a biblical worldview and often lead to harm and confusion.

In contrast, true biblical christianity should be a movement swimming against the current of our culture, which is often incompatible with the christian worldview. Christ’s true followers are committed to the teachings of the Bible, even if they are unpopular or countercultural. We recognize that the current of culture is often leading in a direction that is opposed to God’s word, and we should be determined to swim upstream, against the tide.

Like swimming against the current of a river, swimming against the current of our culture is not an easy task. It requires strength, perseverance, and a deep commitment to the truth. However, it is the only way to stay on course and to reach the destination that God has set before us.

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind…”

Romans 12:2

We must resist the current of this present culture and hold fast to the teachings of the Bible, even if that means swimming against the tide.

As Christians living in this present culture, we are all swimming in the same current. However, we must recognize that there is a difference between swimming with the current and swimming against it. “Progressive Christianity” often goes with the current of our culture, which is fundamentally incompatible with the only true Christian worldview – the biblical Christian worldview. In contrast, true Biblical Christianity swims against it, even if it means going against the popular opinion of our culture. As Christians, we must swim against the tide and hold fast to Jesus through the teachings of the Bible and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world-the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life-is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.”

1 John 2:15-17

In Him, with love
